I did it! I finished the first draft of Book Three of my science fiction and fantasy epic series, The Questrison Saga! Since this is a four-book series, Book Three takes the position of the penultimate tale.
And is it ever a doozy! It takes place immediately after the cliffhanger ending of Ephemeris. As you can see in my pen-and-ink illustration in this header, the ship Galla-Deia commands in Ephemeris returns for Book Three. You’ll learn what Rob Idin names it, too.
What Happens Next?
So what happens in Book Three? The effects from the Event ripple across the galaxy. Paosh Tohon positions itself to feed upon the suffering the Event creates, making it larger and more formidable. The galactic governing body, the Associates, trained for eons for the Event…but they were not prepared for Paosh Tohon. As the galaxy slides toward anarchy, who can save it?
Galla, her crew, the mage governor Aeriod, and the denizens of Perpetua, Mandira Research Station, Ika Nui, and other worlds must put aside their differences to pull off a monumental task. Galla needs more telepaths to help her activate her stones and power the Devices on twenty-one worlds. Time is not on her side, and villains from the past and present seek to tear apart her mission and the people within it.
Familiar faces return not just from Ephemeris, but also from Heliopause! And there are new worlds, new aliens, and some surprises along the way.
Prepare for Turbulence!
But just to warn you, this is a dark chapter in the saga. Everything built up is on the verge of being torn down. You’ll be sent on a roller coaster of emotions. The stakes are high, and so is the drama.
I am aiming for a late May 2020 publication date. The next steps are revisions through September, beta reads in October, and handing off the manuscript to the main copy editor before the holidays. In January, it’ll go to the final editor, and cover art and design will begin. Just as with its predecessors, I will not announce the title of Book Three until the cover art reveal.
Looking Ahead to Book Four
Book Four is already partially written, and its foundation was made decades ago. I’m eager to jump back into the worlds I’ve made, but I am also feeling emotional that it is almost over. I hope you’ll join me on this adventure!
